Particularly when the noble use its inflatable roll attack - which is usually easy to avoid - leading to an easy instant kill. This can cause players to get stuck or roll into walls by mistake. Unlike the Four Kings fight, the Godskin Duo inhabits a relatively small space separated by pillars. The worst is when the Godskin Noble pins you to a corner. Otherwise, the one you’re not targeting will surely sneak up on you. You can only afford to hit one foe or the other when both are visible. Good luck doing that when there are two of them hounding you around the room, though.īeating the Godskin Duo can be an exercise in unholy patience. Staying at close range and dodging or blocking just before landing one hit and backing off is often your safest bet. Using slow, powerful spells and abilities at a distance is more difficult in this fight than against most bosses. It deals lingering damage over time like a rapid poison. The god-killing black fire doesn’t just hurt, you see. This makes using flasks and other consumables throughout the fight extremely difficult, not to mention outright dangerous. They hit hard at close up and spam black fireballs at range - especially whenever you try to heal. Godskins are, to put it plainly, real assholes. This process repeats until you actually deplete the bosses’ single, shared health bar (similar to the Four Kings fight from the original Dark Souls). Destroying one boss causes another to spawn after a short delay. At the same time… The name is actually misleading, too, since there are usually closer to four total opponents over the course of the fight. The battle pits you against two otherwise optional bosses found elsewhere in Elden Ring: Godskin Apostle and Godskin Noble. The Godskin Duo is the first real, nonoptional boss fight of the zone. You won’t reach the city proper until after defeating the Fire Giant and making one sacrifice or another to open the Erdtree. Though the section seen through this portal is just a fraction of the full region. You can reach it very early in Elden Ring by accessing the proper teleporter in the Four Belfries: as early as the start of the game if you have a Stonesword Key.
